Our custom engineering team loves tackling challenges, and in this application, we were tasked with automating the denesting pneumatics of plastic scoops into powder-filled bins moving slowly on a conveyor. Before our solution, an operator had to manually drop one scoop into each bin every minute, which was time-consuming and inefficient.
Morrison’s pneumatic and mechanical design automated the entire denesting process, saving time and labor.
How It Works: Our system is designed to accept operator-fed stacks of plastic scoops, separate them, and index one scoop into each bin. A pneumatic brake controls the feed, while a mechanical/pneumatic escapement releases one scoop per bin. A photoeye/timer provides feedback to ensure the perfect drop into each bin, ensuring consistent, accurate results every time.
