ProSys Servo Filling Systems began working with Morrison on this challenge in 2017, looking to improve the container handling aspects of their cartridge filling product lines.
Our engineers created a partnership, providing the container handling on these systems for ProSys. Each system features an inline filling system with container handling provided by Morrison. As the Morrison screws accurately position each tube within 1/16th of an inch, ProSys maintains a fill accuracy of +/- 1 percent. This dedication to accuracy on the systems leaves customers with a powerful unit capable of filling up to 120 containers per minute.
The containers are fed in horizontally and twisted so they can be vertically filled. They are then retwisted after filling to be horizontally oriented again.
The vertical fills allow ProSys to handle a wider variety of liquids in these machines compared to competitors, from very thin to very thick viscosities. In this indexing system, Morrison helps Prosys integrate printers and check weighers when needed as well, helping customers achieve better fill accuracies that equate to savings and less overall product waste.
The timing screw drive unit was constructed from black anodized aluminum, providing a durable yet lightweight solution ideal for high-speed operations. This construction met the specific industry standards required for the automotive sector.
Morrison’s solution significantly improved the efficiency and accuracy of ProSys’s filling systems:
Enhanced Accuracy: Precise positioning and filling, with accuracy within +/- 1 percent.
Increased Speed: Ability to fill up to 120 containers per minute.
Reduced Waste: Integration of printers and check weighers minimizes product waste, leading to cost savings.
Versatile Handling: Capability to handle a wide variety of liquid viscosities, providing a competitive edge.
