A high speed metering system was needed to space tea bottles prior to a sleeving application.
Morrison designed a dual metering custom drive assembly to manage the backlog of square bottles, spacing them to a 120mm pitch before feeding the sleever. The benefits of using a dual screw system in this high-speed application include superior control by contacting the bottle in four places, handling backpressure caused by full containers with a shingle infeed, ensuring smooth feeding of containers into the system with infeed offset rails, and maintaining smooth operation at high speeds with dynamically balanced timing screws.
The timing screw drive unit was constructed with Black Anodized Aluminum.
The solution for metering tea bottles delivered precise spacing at 800 CPM, with dual screws ensuring control, reducing errors, and maintaining smooth operation. Dynamically balanced screws and offset rails enhanced efficiency, meeting high-speed demands and improving overall production line performance.
