Our customer needed to accept a single lane of containers from north, turn them 180 degrees and discharge them east.
To overcome this challenge, Morrison engineers designed a system that accepted a backlog of wide-side-leading rectangular containers, changed the flow of the product by 90 degrees, and discharged them narrow-side-leading before filling. The starwheel was designed to hold the backlog, consistently removing one container per pocket and discharging them in the correct orientation and direction of flow.
The timing screw drive unit was constructed with stainless steel, lexan, and UHMW.
The custom system improved handling efficiency, ensuring smooth container flow and correct orientation for filling, reducing errors and downtime. Durable materials like Stainless Steel, Lexan, and UHMW provided long-lasting performance and easy maintenance, enhancing production line reliability.
