The customer needed to space full, capped glass nail polish bottles onto pucks efficiently, maintaining precise control and spacing.
Morrison engineered a dual, four-screw micro custom drive assembly to accept glass nail polish bottles from a backlog and meter them to a specific pitch. The system includes two infeed screws that meter the containers to two discharge screws, placing the nail polish bottles onto pucks while maintaining the pitch.
Each set of screws is powered by a servo motor, ensuring precise control. Morrison’s ability to design small screws provides positive control of the containers throughout the process.
The dual micro metering custom timing screw drive unit is constructed from black anodized aluminum, ensuring durability and a lightweight design suitable for high-speed operations.
By implementing Morrison’s custom solution, the customer achieved efficient and precise handling of glass nail polish bottles at an operating speed of 80 containers per minute (CPM). The system’s metering ensured seamless placement onto pucks, enhancing stability and productivity.
