A manufacturer needed to meter 3” pucks at a pitch of 6.5” for a downstream wrapper system.
Our engineers developed a dual straight root timing screw drive unit. Stright root designs are Morrison’s most common design of timing screws, the pucks feed into Morrison’s timing screws and are metered at the discharged. With only three moving parts, this system is very reliable and easy to operate.
This system was created from food-safe UHMW plastic. UHMW is a very robust and lightweight construction solution.
Morrison’s innovative solution allowed the customer to achieve their container handling goals. The precise metering of the small pucks allowed the customer to seamlessly move their pucks to a downstream wrapper application. This system met the standards of the customer and the household products industry.
