Ice Cream Pint Inverting

Customer Container Handling Challenge

A leading ice cream manufacturer needed an ice cream pint inverting solution to take a single lane of small containers and invert them 180 degrees to be lid side facing down.

Morrison Solution

Morrison’s engineers developed a twist block that used constant backlog to push the product through this application. Once the product enters the system, it is inverted 180 degrees upside down to continue down the production line. Morrison’s solution is able to gently invert containers moving at 310 ft per minute without damaging the integrity or shelf appearance of the product.

Construction

This system was constructed with food-safe UHMW plastic and stainless steel, creating a robust design that is easy to maintain.

Results

Morrison’s twist block system successfully inverted small ice cream containers 180 degrees, positioning the lids downward as required. The system efficiently handled containers moving at 310 feet per minute while maintaining gentle container handling to prevent damage.
