Household Cleaner Down Bottle Reject

Customer Container Handling Challenge

A large manufacturer of household products supplies was having the issue of containers tipping over and laying on their side while moving product down their line. This was a consistent issue that was decreasing throughput and increasing downtime because an operator was having to reset the bottles to their upright position by hand. The manufacturer contacted Morrison for an automated solution that would reduce downtime and increase throughput.

Morrison Solution

Morrison’s expert engineers devised a genius solution; a down bottle reject system. The down bottle reject system was a non-invasive retrofit to a production line, capable of taking down bottles and ejecting them out the side of the system, while bottles in the correct position simply passed down through the line. The system ran entirely off the conveyor, meaning that the reject system did not need to be plugged in or charged.

Construction

This system was constructed from stainless steel and food-safe UHMW plastic. Providing a highly robust construction that will not cause damage to the containers.

Results

Morrison’s down bottle reject system solved the customer’s container handling problems by rejecting down bottles and allowing correctly oriented bottles to travel down the line. It was a simple solution that led to a substantial reduction in downtime while increasing container throughput.
