Our customer approached us for an innovative solution for denesting plastic trays within 12 stations. They needed to handle trays, clamshells, and lids, with separate systems for clamshells with hinged lids and standalone lids.
Morrison’s expert engineers designed four separate denesting stations: two locations with four systems each and two with two systems each. Systems handled clamshells with hinged lids, while stations were for standalone lids. Each location was designed to run one system at a time, with chutes allowing operators to stack products efficiently, meeting all customer needs.
The system was constructed from black anodized aluminum and food-safe UHMW plastic, providing a lightweight and robust construction solution.
The implementation of Morrison’s denesting systems successfully met the customer’s need for handling trays, clamshells, and lids across multiple stations. The design effectively separated systems for clamshells with hinged lids and standalone lids.
