Customer Container Handling Challenge: This customer needed to turn their soap bottles from narrow side leading to wide side leading and index them for bundling.

Morrison Solution: Morrison designed a dual purpose timing screw drive unit that turns the containers 90 degrees and indexes the containers for bundling, all in the same compact system. After turning, the system indexes every 3 to 6 cycles to create the proper bundle/packaging scenario based on the line need.

Due to the type of container, these tall narrow bottles are often less stable, resulting in handling challenges. Morrison designed screws that positively control this container by fully encapsulating it during the turning process and while transferring it to indexing. The smooth discharge of the containers allows them to remain upright for more accurate bundling.

This system came with screw sets for 8 different container sizes. The “NO TOOLS” Quick Change on the screws allows for quick and easy changeovers between bottle sizes.
