Morrison Inline Orienting Custom Drive Assembly

Automotive Product Handling Solution

Case Study: Inline Orienting System for Packaging

INDUSTRY: Automotive | OPERATING SPEED: 200 CPM

CONTAINER: WD-40 Aerosol Cans with Hinged Nozzles

Customer Container Handling Challenge: The nozzles on the WD-40 cans needed to be oriented prior to packaging.

Morrison Solution: Morrison implemented a design that would orient the containers to be nozzle side trailing after exiting the timing screw drive unit. The containers enter the screws at random

orientation and an orienting rail rotates them as they go through the guide so they exit properly. This solution is a simple, effective system that orients based off a physical feature of the container. Quick change parts were provided so different containers could run on the same system. Bypass screws were also included for when orienting was not needed.

Controls and complete guarding were provided by Morrison.

Construction: Black Anodized Aluminum
