Customer Container Handling Challenge: These rectangular gallon containers needed to get from narrow side leading to wide side leading.
Morrison Solution: Morrison designed a dual custom timing screw drive unit to accept containers from a backlog and turn them 90 degrees.
Noting the containers would be less stable when turning 90 degrees, Morrison evaluated the relative speed of the conveyor chain to the containers as they exit the screw, making sure that after being positively controlled in the screws, the would still exit them remaining stable.
The Morrison screw design is large enough to engulf the full container, which is what causes positive control and smooth turning to be reliable.
