Case Study: Metering Oil Quarts Prior to Capping
INDUSTRY: Automotive | OPERATING SPEED: 400 CPM
CONTAINER: One-Quart Oil
Customer Container Handling Challenge: In order to better cap the product more accurately, the containers needed a more controlled feed into the rotary capper.
Morrison Solution: Morrison designed a dual metering timing screw drive unit utilizing legendary shingle infeed design. This design has the best positive control and acceptance of typically-troublesome rectangular containers. Shingle infeed design allows for better control and positioning of the container so it remains stable and doesn’t jam within the system.
At the discharge, the containers are positioned with appropriate spacing to enter the rotary capper.
The connection for this system was slave driven, allowing for a more cost-effective solution to container handling inefficiencies.
