Case Study: Metering Duct Tape onto Lug Conveyor for Sleeving

Customer Container Handling Challenge: In order to sleeve the product, this customer needed to automate the placing of duct tape on a lug conveyor.

Morrison Solution: Morrison meters the duct tape through the timing screws in order to perfectly align it on top of the lug conveyor. As the timing screws meter the tape, a lug conveyor meets it underneath and the tape is discharged on top of the lug effectively each time.

With the duct tape properly sitting on the lug conveyor, it is sleeved easier, allowing for more sleeves to be positioned on the container properly and less waste.

This solution was servo driven, with the customer providing their own controls instead of Morrison.
