Case Study: Morrison Inverting and Combining Custom Drive Assembly
INDUSTRY: Grain/Mill/Cereal | OPERATING SPEED: 320 CPM per lane
CONTAINER: Round Cereal Bowls
Customer Container Handling Challenge: Cereal Bowls are code dating on the bottom of the container, but they need to be turned upside down on the production line for this to happen.
Morrison Solution: We designed a twist timing screw drive assembly that inverts the full, sealed cereal cups from a backlog or random feed, and twists them 180 degrees so a code dater can print on the bottom of the bowls.
The UHMW twist works with the timing screw to positively control the container as it enters the system and flips the container upside down. Being able to accepts the containers at random feed allows for more versatility with this solution.
We mounted the system diagonally across the conveyor so the same conveyor can be used at the infeed and discharge of the timing screw assembly.
