Case Study: Morrison Dual Turning Custom Drive Assembly with Bottle Stop
INDUSTRY: Alcohol | OPERATING SPEED: 275 CPM
CONTAINER: Glass Round / Square / Larceny
Customer Container Handling Challenge: The customer had a dual tag applicator which needed to apply tags to 11 different container shapes in specific orientations. These containers included rectangular, tapered, and round geometries. Some of the containers required a rotation of 90 degrees to apply the tags and a final 90-degree rotation back to their original orientation. To up the challenge, everything had to be run on the same line and the containers were made of a heavy glass material.
Morrison Solution: A custom drive assembly that suited the customer’s needs by utilizing a quad screw assembly with custom bracket and drive system that allows for easy screw changeover to accommodate all the different styles of containers. For fine control of the system start and stop, a bottle stop was mounted at the infeed of the system to maintain appropriate backlog upon startup and allow full run out of the screws.
Construction: Black Anodized Aluminum
