Case Study: Morrison Stacked Orienting Custom Drive Assembly
INDUSTRY: Household | CONTAINER: One Gallon Chemical Cleaner
Customer Container Handling Challenge: Gallon jugs of household cleaner needed to be oriented to be handle trailing prior to entering the next application on the packaging line.
Morrison Solution: We devised a dual stacked screw orientation system that accepts the empty, light bottles and controls them through the orientation process.
The chemical bottles enter the assembly at random orientation. The stacked screw system controls the screws positively and keeps them upright as they approach the metal rail. The sheet metal rail orients the handles on the gallons to be handle trailing and the small metal rod maintains that orientation as they discharge through the system.
