Customer Container Handling Challenge: Our customer needed to upgrade their existing machine to be able to run a new container shape on that line.

Morrison Solution: Our engineers designed a new timing screw and a orienter custom fit for the container that the customer wanted to run on their existing packaging system. The plastic trays are fed into the timing screw system by a conveyor belt. The timing screw, designed specifically for the unique container shape, feeds the plastic trays out onto a conveyor belt single file, discharges them with consistent spacing between each other as they are reoriented so the plastic trays are all facing the right direction after going through the screw.

Cost reduction was a main focus for the customer, so for this two lane system Morrison designed it to be able to run the pair of screws and conveyors off one motor each, cutting the customers’ potential cost significantly.
