Case Study: Morrison 3 Screw Stacking Custom Drive Assembly for Sleeving
INDUSTRY: Dairy | OPERATING SPEED: 70 CPM PER LANE | CONTAINER: 16oz Tubs
Customer Container Handling Challenge: Three lanes needed to come together in order to stack product for a sleeving application. The customer wanted to automate this process.
Morrison Solution: Morrison engineers devised a three lane / three screw stacked system. Each screw assembly is set at different elevations so the containers can feed into a three-container high stacked, while maintaining positive control of the 16 oz tubs.
Each lane feeds at 70 CPM, meaning 210 containers are stacked a minute, feeding 70 stacks into the sleever each minute.
This system accepted full and capped containers, handling them carefully as not to damage the product.
Construction: Black Anodized Aluminum
Note: This was a test set up with short conveyors for prototyping purposes. In a real, live setting, guarding is in place. During testing, all safety measures are put in place while containers are loaded onto the conveyor.
