Case Study: Morrison Alternate Inverting Custom Drive Assembly
INDUSTRY: Dairy | OPERATING SPEED: 200 CPM
CONTAINER: 48 OZ
Customer Container Handling Challenge: The customer requested an automated system to flip every other ice cream container to create an alternate inverting pattern (up, down, up, down) to prepare for shipping.
Morrison Solution: Our container handling experts implemented a timing screw inverting system equipped with a servo flipper system. The servo flipper system creates the alternate inverted pattern (up, down, up, down) by tapping every other container over the timing screw to generate the requested pattern. The containers that are not tapped over are inverted a full 180 degrees. This system is also equipped with an inspection sensor that monitors for container voids and ensures a constant, consistent alternating pattern. The containers discharge from the system staggered in the alternate pattern and will need to be guided together to package for shipping. Utilizing a timing screw system allows the containers to move continuously which accelerates operating speed, improves line efficiency, boosts uptime of the line, and increases the customer’s ROI.
