Divide Scent Inserts

Customer Container Handling Challenge

A Morrison customer needed a solution to their dividing problem. The customer needed to divide a single lane of scent bottles into two without damaging the product. The solution also needed to divide the containers equally into each lane while operating at high speeds and meet the standards of the industry.

Morrison Solution

Morrison’s expert engineers developed a dual timing screw drive unit that separates every other container to the left or right by a few inches as they leave the timing screws. The containers are then pushed even further away from each other with a “V” shaped wedge in the middle of the conveyor, that slides the containers further apart creating two equal lines of containers on both sides of the containers.

Construction

This system was constructed with black anodized aluminum, with UHMW plastic timing screws and pucks. Creating a sturdy and easy to maintain design that is both aesthetically pleasing and scratch resistant.

Results

Morrison’s innovative solution enabled the customer to achieve their container dividing goals. The dividing system featured one moving part which reduced weight and cost of the system. While operating at high speeds this system was able to gently handle the product without damaging the containers. The system complied with all the standards of the customer and the household products industry.
