A metal cup manufacturer needed a system to group, meter, handle and rotate their containers on the same line. Because the cups are made from metal this solution would need to handle the containers at high speeds for the line to be productive, but gentle enough so the containers do not get scuffed or scratched during the container handling process.
Morrison’s expert engineers created a system that can successfully group, meter, handle and rotate metal containers. By performing every single one of these processes in one system the customer did not need additional machines, saving a large amount of money. The system accepts empty metal cans, turning them 90 degrees to lie down open side leading, nesting them together, metering them in groups and finally discharging them into a lug conveyor. The system’s timing screws positively handled the containers and consistently discharged the containers into any number the customer wanted without damaging the cups.
Made from scratch resistant black anodized aluminum and food-safe UHMW plastic. This construction proved to be lightweight, robust and gentle enough not to damage the containers while running at high speeds.
