Divide, Cross, Combine Wet Wipes

Customer Container Handling Challenge

A wet wipes manufacturer needed a system that could divide, cross laning and combine their containers. It was important to the customer that this system handled their containers quickly and with care, because they did not want the seal on the opening to break, having the wet wipes dry out and become ruined.

Morrison Solution

In this system, Morrison divides, cross lanes, and combines wet wipe containers for packaging. This full system solution was designed by Morrison engineers and integrated for the customer. Each application is a separate assembly, and all of them were built into one complete turnkey solution. For cross laning, photoeyes were integrated into the controls system. Containers were accepted from a de-palletizer discharge conveyor into this system. The containers were then able to pass through every system with no damage to the containers.

Construction

This large system was created from scratch resistant black anodized aluminum and UHMW plastic. This construction is food-safe and durable.

Results

Morrison’s system streamlined the wet wipes manufacturer’s production line. The system effectively divided, cross laned, and combined the wet wipe containers without breaking the containers air-tight seal. By integrating multiple processes into one system, the solution streamlined the production process increasing throughput and saving the customer money.
