Turning Laundry Containers

Customer Container Handling Challenge

One of the world’s largest laundry manufacturers needed a solution to their container handling problem. This manufacturer needed to take large and heavy laundry containers and turn them 90 degrees from narrow to wide side leading; prior to a downstream end-of-line packaging system. While metering the containers to a 9.75” pitch.

Morrison Solution

Our engineers constructed a system that meters and turns the containers. First a timing screw meters the containers as they pass through the screws, then guiderails on both sides of the system gently slide the containers into the desired position. What else is notable about this system is the height of the machine. On the customer’s production line this application would be about 6 and a half feet from the ground. Morrison constructed an extra-large body for this system to better fit the customer’s space requirements. Allowing us to better meet your container handling challenges.

Construction

This system was created from food-safe UHMW plastic, and black anodized aluminum. Perfect for when aesthetics and easy maintenance are what’s most important.

Results

Morrison successfully addressed the laundry manufacturer’s container handling challenge by developing a system that efficiently meters and turns large, heavy laundry containers 90 degrees. The solution involved a timing screw to meter the containers and guiderails that gently positioned them for downstream packaging. Notably, the system was designed with an extra-large body to accommodate the customer’s specific production line height of 6.5 feet, ensuring seamless integration. Constructed from food-safe UHMW plastic and black anodized aluminum, the system provided both durability and easy maintenance while meeting the manufacturer’s aesthetic and operational needs.
