A Morrison customer faced a challenge on their production line. Their containers needed to be spaced prior to a check weigher with a random feed for accurate weighing before continuing down the rest of the system.
Morrison designed a timing screw system that provided positive control of containers and spaced them precisely as they move towards the check weigher. This turnkey solution integrated full electrical controls and guarding for seamless operation.
Containers were randomly fed into the system, spaced, and then controlled as they progressed through the customer’s check weighing process. The cantilever screw design was particularly effective in accommodating this specific container shape, even with random feeding at the infeed.
The electrical controls allowed the timing screw drive unit to adjust speeds easily based on the machine’s status, ensuring optimal performance.
This system was constructed from black anodized aluminum, and food safe UHMW plastic, providing a lightweight and robust construction solution.
Morrison’s timing screw solution effectively addressed the challenge of spacing containers prior to check weighing, helping to ensure accurate weight measurements and maintaining the efficiency of the production line. The timing screw system provided positive control over the containers, spacing them appropriately as they went over the check weigher. This system met all the customers’ standards, and the standards of the food industry.
