Rejecting Down Bottles

Customer Container Handling Challenge

A large mayonnaise manufacturer was facing a consistent problem on their production line. Containers were frequently falling down on their side leading to jams and stops interrupting their production workflow. The manufacturer asked Morrison if there was a solution to this container handling challenge.

Morrison Solution

The answer to this customer’s container handling challenge was a Morrison down bottle reject system. This system was a non-invasive retrofit to an already existing production line. Essentially this system was a simple guide that would eject bottles not in the correct orientation, while allowing correctly oriented bottles to simply pass down the line unobstructed.

Construction

This system was constructed from stainless steel and food-safe UHMW plastic. Providing a highly rigid yet lightweight construction.

Results

Morrison’s solution allowed the customer to increase throughput and reduce downtime. By eliminating jams and stoppages on their production line. This retrofit permitted the customer to meet their container handling goals without having to invest in an expensive new production line. This system met the standards of the food industry, and the standards of our customer.
