A large cereal manufacturer needed to divide a single lane of cereal cups, and divide them equally into two lanes for a downstream case packer application.
Morrison’s expert engineers created a timing screw system that alternates every container into either the left or right side of the conveyor. A single “V” shaped wedge was placed just after containers discharge from the screws; this wedge slides the containers further apart from each other, creating two separate and metered lines of containers.
This system was created from stainless steel and food-safe UHMW plastic, providing a lightweight and robust design.
Morrison’s dividing solution enabled the cereal manufacturer to meet their production needs. The timing screw and wedge metered and evenly divided the containers to both lanes. This system met the expectations of the manufacturer and the grain industry.
