A Morrison customer needed to split a single lane of containers into two, allowing only one lane to be inverted.
We designed a timing screw drive system that accepted a single lane of containers, divided it into two, and inverted the full, sealed cups—all from a random feed. Once divided, one lane of containers was inverted 180 degrees, positioning the lip at the bottom.
The inverting system was mounted diagonally across the conveyor, allowing the same conveyor to be used at both the infeed and discharge of the timing screw assembly. Additionally, full perimeter guarding was included in this solution.
This system was constructed from stainless steel for high washdown durability, featuring scratch-resistant black anodized aluminum and plastic UHMW timing screws.
Morrison’s timing screw drive system enabled the effective division of a single lane of containers into two, with precise inversion of one lane. The diagonal mounting of the inverting system optimized conveyor space usage, allowing for seamless integration with existing infeed and discharge processes.
The robust construction materials, including stainless steel and UHMW plastic, ensured the system’s durability and compliance with washdown requirements. This solution not only addressed the customer’s specific needs but also demonstrated Morrison’s ability to deliver tailored, efficient container handling solutions.
