Double Down Bottle Reject

Customer Container Handling Challenge

Our customer needed a system to remove fallen bottles from their conveyor without interrupting the flow of upright bottles in two side-by-side lanes. This solution would maintain a smooth production flow, reducing jams and minimizing product damage.

Morrison Solution

Our container handling experts developed an innovative double down bottle reject system to automatically remove fallen bottles from the packaging line. The system includes specially designed curved guides that seamlessly direct upright bottles through the process without any need for operator intervention. Meanwhile, fallen bottles are efficiently identified and rejected by mechanical guides, ensuring they are removed from the conveyor and deposited into an attached bin.

This advanced system allows for a higher throughput of bottles, as fallen bottles are automatically rejected, preventing jams and ensuring smooth and continuous operation on the conveyor.

Construction

The down bottle system unit was constructed from stainless steel & UHMW, offering a durable yet lightweight solution.

Results

Our solution significantly improved the customer’s production line efficiency:

  • Increased Throughput: The system allowed more bottles to be processed without interruptions, enhancing overall productivity.
  • Reduced Downtime: Automatic rejection of fallen bottles minimized jams and the need for manual intervention, leading to less downtime.
  • Enhanced Reliability: The robust construction of the timing screw drive unit ensured consistent performance and durability, meeting the high demands of the alcohol industry.

By implementing Morrison’s double down bottle reject system, our customer successfully overcame their handling challenge, leading to a more efficient and reliable production line.
