Sr. Controls Engineer
Morrison Container Handling Solutions, the leading container handling expert in the packaging industry, is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to bring their expertise to our growing team of talent. Applicants with 5 years of automation experience, who love investigating problems and building custom, customer-focused solutions must apply.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design Electrical Schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
Develop PLC, Advanced Motion, and HMI Programs from scratch for a range of Allen Bradley Controllers, new equipment prototypes and to support assembly area testing.
Develop new Standard Electrical Designs for new equipment and implement existing standard electrical designs for standard equipment.
Supervise Panel Build process in the panel shop and review progress daily.
Develop and Integrate Vision Systems for applications including Orientation and Feature Detection using various vision tools.
Review customer specifications with attention to detail, develop project plans and schedules across multiple departments including sales and applications.
Interact with customers frequently to review project plans, exchange integration information, and formulate installation plans.
Develop Operator Manuals, User Manuals, One Point Lessons, and other project documentation as required.
Periodic Travel to customer site for startups, installations or to resolve field issues; this may include new equipment integration with customer equipment and supervising installation electricians.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology or related field is required.

Manual Lathe Machinist
The Manual Lathe Machinist (1st and 2nd shifts) is an hourly-compensated employee on the production team reporting to the Timing Screw Production Lead and responsible for the safe operation of the Manual Lathe.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review Data Sheets and Daily Timing Screw List; with Timing Screw Production Manager, determine job priorities for the day
Using Data Sheets, determine and execute proper bores, tapers, counter-bores, hubs and finished outside diameter on raw plastic
Choose proper cutters and drills based on the parameters of each specific job
Observe the progress of machining and watch for errors; inspect finished work for accuracy
Work with engineering to develop specialized procedures for non-routine jobs
Read and respond to emails about machining job functions
Daily maintenance of machine and work area, including wiping down weighs, cleaning chuck, chip disposal, tool sharpening, and other maintenance as scheduled
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma. 3+ years of experience and related courses/certifications are highly preferred.

Mechanical Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES for Mechanical Design Engineer:
Collaborate with Lead Engineers, Manufacturing, and Assembly team members to design problem-solving container handling equipment
Using CAD software, produce standard, manufacture-ready designs; detail parts, and create mechanical drawings, assembly prints, and specifications that enable the production team to correctly fabricate and assemble all engineering output
Review specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed
Maintain close communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with the production team to ensure proper assembly and operation of completed designs; modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems
Communicate with customers in a professional and timely manner regarding feasibility, design, order status, operational concerns, service, and more

Machinist
Morrison Container Handling Solutions, the leading container handling expert in the packaging industry, is seeking a Machinists (1st and 2nd shifts) to join our busy production team and be responsible for the safe operation of a variety of Morrison equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review Bills of Materials, Parts Orders and MFG lists daily; with Department Leads, determine job priorities for the day
Together with Production Operations Manager, Timing Screw Lead, and other Lead Machinists, schedule flow of jobs through production for optimal efficiency; monitor progress throughout the day to ensure standards for timeliness and production value are met
Using data supplied by Engineering, determine and execute proper bores, tapers, counter-bores, hubs and finished outside diameter on raw plastic
Collaborate with engineers to improve parts, correct errors on prints, and/or address other discrepancies; inform Production Operations Manager of any such discrepancies
Seek out and drive improvements in tools and/or processes; implement change to benefit the specific department as well as overall production operations
Choose proper cutters and drills based on parameters of each specific job
Observe progress of machining and watch for errors; inspect finished work for accuracy
Daily maintenance of the machine and work area, including a check of coolant and weigh lube levels, emptying chip barrel, disposal of scrap material, organization of tools and sweeping; other maintenance as scheduled
During machining of MFG parts or other parts requiring long machining times, perform work or maintenance on other machines
Read and respond to emails pertaining to machining job functions
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma. Additional certifications (CNC Mill/Lathe operation courses, etc.) are highly preferred.
3-5 years’ experience running CNC Mill/Lathe, including set ups and programming are desired
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain demanding physical operations throughout the workday

Work with customers’ on-site production technicians and engineers to ensure the smooth operation of machinery while maintaining Morrison’s high standard of customer service, providing training when needed
