A spice product manufacturer needed to efficiently reject full and empty 32 oz square down bottles while allowing upright bottles to continue down the line for the downstream application. This was crucial for keeping the flow of production and minimizing broken products.
Morrison’s engineering team helped overcome this challenge by implementing a down bottle reject guide system. The system accepted full and empty spice containers and utilized the geometry of the containers to automatically reject bottles that may have fallen upstream. This system handled various flavors on the same line at 140 containers per minute.
The down bottle solution is comprised of UMHW and utilizes gravity, conveyor speed, and the geometry of the container.
By implementing Morrison’s custom solution, the customer achieved a smooth flow of production preventing delays and reduced product wastage. Overall, the solution enhanced efficiency, maintained product quality, and boosted productivity in their operations.
