Smart Dividing with Lane Diverter

Beverage Handling Solution

Case Study: Morrison Smart Dividing Custom Drive Assembly

INDUSTRY: Beverage | OPERATING SPEED: 660 to 700 CPM

CONTAINER: 32oz Juice

Customer Container Handling Challenge: A high speed dividing system was needed for sleeving in two lanes.

Morrison Solution: Morrison engineered a four screw smart dividing system the accepts the full, capped round containers from a backlog and equally divides them into two lanes prior to a dual head sleeving application. As the containers exit the divider, they are metered to have proper spacing while heading to the sleever.

A lane diverter upgrade was provided was well in the event all containers needed to be sent through lane A or lane B. The diverter is driven through the timing screws and pneumatic actuators programmed through the HMI controls.

Due to controls, this system is considered smart as it adapts through electrically engineered controls to the conditions presented in the system. For high speed applications, upgrades such as these help the efficiency and minimize long downtime due to jams.

Guarding is provided to protect operators from the screws on these systems.

Construction: Black Anodized Aluminum
