Dividing and Inverting Olives

Produce Handling Solution

Case Study: Morrison Cantilever Dividing and Inverting Custom Drive Assembly

INDUSTRY: Produce | OPERATING SPEED: 150 CPM

CONTAINER: Olive Cups

Customer Container Handling Challenge: One lane of containers needed to be divided into two, so only one lane could be inverted.

Morrison Solution: We designed a timing screw drive system to accept the single lane of containers, divide it into two, and invert the full, sealed cups - all from a random feed. After being divided into two lanes, one lane of the containers is inverted 180 degrees so the lip is on the bottom.

We mounted the inverting system diagonally across the conveyor so the same conveyor can be used at the infeed and discharge of the timing screw assembly. Full perimeter guarding was provided in this solution as well.

Construction: Stainless Steel and Black Anodized Aluminum
