Morrison is More Than Timing Screws

Driven by innovation and a desire to improve processes, the Morrison Timing Screw Company was born 50 years ago. Although our name has changed to better reflect what we do, our motivation remains the same.

When Morrison first opened in 1971, we quickly became an industry leader by producing timing screws that accurately handled our customers’ containers, resulting in increased efficiencies for their lines. We’ve continued to keep that momentum and goal in mind.

At Morrison Container Handling Solutions, we recognize the needs of our customers and create custom solutions designed to solve the most challenging of obstacles. Our timing screw legacy is the foundation on which Morrison was established; the addition of our custom applications and machines, like denesters, air rinsers, down bottle rejects, rotary orientors, can openers, auto adjust rails, and more, represent our innovative evolution. Pairing our history of expertise, our drive for innovation, and our Support Built In®; Morrison provides more than timing screws.

Review our custom solutions to see how our applications can help improve your efficiencies, increase your return on investment, decrease downtime on your lines, and reduce your labor needs.

Morrison denesters are a unique application of our timing screws. Designed precisely to your container’s dimensions, a denesting system from Morrison will automate the manual, repetitive task of separating and setting a container onto a conveyor line. We design horizontal and vertical denesters (pictured), depending on the application your needs. Denesters are a great addition to any production line as they increase your efficiency and reliability, ensuring that your containers are placed in the same spot every time, and save your team time by turning a manual process into a precise automated process.

Prior to placing your product in your container, you may need to rinse the container to remove dust and particulates. This is where our air rinser can help improve your process.

To start, containers are fed into a set of timing screws on a conveyor to positively control them as they are inverted upside down. Once inverted they are ‘rinsed’ with a burst of air which allows for any particulates and dust to fall out of the containers.

Having bottles fall over on a conveyor line is a surefire way to cause a jam in your production which leads to dreaded downtime on your line. An innovative solution to mitigate this challenge is to install our down bottle reject system.

As the image illustrates, a container that has fallen over can be quickly and automatically removed without disrupting the flow of your production line. This system is a cost-effective investment to increase your line’s efficiency and your bottom line.

Rotary Orienting System

This system is a great example of how we are more than timing screws at Morrison.

Designed to turn glass jars to prepare for labeling, the rotary orienting system is an innovative, space-saving solution that automates a process resulting in increased throughput for your line. To watch this system in action, check out the video here.

Morrison’s high-speed can opener system can standardize and automate your opening process. Our most recent Model 60 Can Opener opens cans using a crown punch application, magnetically de-lids, inverts the can to remove its contents, and then rinses your cans. To complete the process, we can install the Can Crusher application which will compact your empty, rinsed cans to prep them for. See this model in action as we highlight each process by watching this video.

Changeover with the touch of a button. That’s what’s possible with Morrison’s Auto Adjust Rails®. Adjustable rails can help facilitate quick and easy changeovers which allow your line to run multiple sized containers on the same conveyor without lengthy, manual changeover. With just a tap of a button, watch your line transform to fit your various containers in moments. Morrison Auto Adjust Rails® are user friendly and easy to retrofit to your existing line. Whether you’re running containers or cases, full or empty, Morrison has an application that can fit your needs.

Obtain your production goals by using our expertise when building a custom solution for your line. Whether you’re moving a semi-rigid or rigid container made of metal, glass, plastic, or cardboard; Morrison is ready to help you innovate your container handling needs with custom solutions.
