When’s the last time you’ve walked past a hand sanitizer display and haven’t purchased one, you know, just in case? Is it because you remember just 9 short months ago when you couldn’t get your hands on one of those precious 2oz bottles?
Consumers around the world have been concerned with the hand sanitizer manufacturing process. Other than masks, hand sanitizer has become one of the most valuable and protective items that people have sought after during the pandemic. With the shortage, panic ensued as the supply chain sought solutions.
Behind the scenes, various companies updated their lines or built new ones to accommodate need. Morrison worked with these companies to quickly get together the handling equipment needed for new containers and conversion to new conveyor lines.
As we close out a very interesting year, here are some of their stories.
New projects from unlikely sources:
Shortages of hand sanitizer happened, so different manufacturing companies stepped up and switched over their manufacturing lines to make hand sanitizer instead of their usual product. To make this switch, Morrison worked quickly to provide them low-cost solutions that would allow for their production process to move efficiently.
Morrison worked with Marquis Energy to help them handle their new hand sanitizer manufacturing process as a co-packer. Prior to COVID-19, Marquis had never handled packaged consumer products before, but in spite of this challenge, they were able to provide hand sanitizer to hospitals, front line workers, and other Chicago-area neighbors hit hardest by COVID-19.
Marquis saw a need and knew they could help. Morrison has been proud to partner with them as they continue on this endeavor, building even more lines to package these sanitizing products.
From distillery to hand sanitizer:
SaniLux was started by a team at Pioneer Tank and Vessel solely to produce hand sanitizer for the COVID-19 pandemic. With the help from the team at Morrison, they were able to quickly transition their production line and increase productivity. (Photo provided by Pioneer Tank and Vessel.)

Updating lines with no time to delay:
With something as important as hand sanitizer during these times, Morrison knew we, and our customers, can’t afford to lose time. That’s why we expedited orders at no additional cost to help customers making the switch to hand sanitizer. We’ve worked to handle quick turnarounds of many food and beverage product handling conveyor belts and equipment pieces. Additionally, we also worked with companies like Ronchi to update quick change parts for producing soaps and hand sanitizers.
